Jesus Christ was the Serpent in the Garden of Eden. And the Old Testament God is Satan

by Thomas Ivan Dahlheimer

The Old Testament God was emanating Satan when he said the Serpent lied. The Old Teatament God also emmantes a good entity known as the world soul - who's body is the cosmos. The Old Testament God was emanating the world soul when he said the Serpent told the truth.

Three posts of mine on Constance Cumbey's blog are about this topic. They are presented below. They include a couple of statements by Paramahansa Yogananda and a few excerpts from a Gnostic website.

Note: In her 1983 #1 best-selling book The Hidden Dangers of the Rainbow Constance Cumbey offered the first major criticism of the New Age movement from a Christian perspective. She has also discussed the contents of this book of hers on the EWTN global Catholic TV network.

Note: Helena Blavatsky (1831 – 1891) is revered by many as the Mother of the New Age Movement.

Mahatma Gandhi said: "Theosophy is the teaching of Madame Blavatsky. It is Hinduism at its best." Paramahansa Yogananda (1893–1952) was a Hindu who was widely revered as the father of Yoga in the West. When writing about Satan, who is known as maya in Hindu scriptures, he wrote:

Maya is "the delusory power inherent in the structure of creation, by which the One appears as many. Maya is the principle of relativity, inversion, contrast, duality, oppositional states; the 'Satan' (lit., in Hebrew, 'the adversary') of the Old Testament prophets; and the 'devil' whom Christ described picturesquely as a 'murderer' and a 'liar,' because 'there is no truth in him.'" (John 8:44).

"Maya is Nature herself—the phenomenal worlds, ever in transitional flux as antithesis to Divine Immutability. In God's plan and play (lila), the sole function of Satan or maya is to attempt to divert man from Spirit to matter, from Reality to unreality."

Explanation: "to attempt to divert man from Spirit" [or convince man that he is not Divine (Spirit)] The serpent in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:6) was right, he said - 'you shall be like God', or become aware that you are Divine-Spirit, Jehovah/Yahweh (satan-maya) originally refutes this.

Explanation: "From Spirit to matter" - meaning satan-maya attempts to convince individual humans to believe that we each are essentially not really One with all other people, as One Being, and that we are not Spirit and that our bodies (made of matter) are a part of who we are." To believe we are Spirit is "Reality," and to believe that we are matter (or even partially matter) is "unreality." ref.

The Serpent in the Garden of Eden was Lucifer's-Jesus's first coming. He came to set us free from Jehovah's-Satan's lies.

Gnosticism:

An article about Yogananda's promotion of Gnostic "Christianity" is located here.

Constance Cumbey asked: Thomas Dahlheimer, where are you getting THAT theology -- the snake in the garden was "Jesus first coming" ??? -- that's weird, even by New Age standards.

Constance Cumbey: The answer to your question can be found by going to the Gnostic website located at: http://www.theforbiddenreligion.com/lucifer-the-liberator.htm

Pope John Paul II wrote: “...the return of ancient Gnostic ideas under the guise of the so-called New Age." ... "It is only a new way of practicing Gnosticism - "

Excepts from this Gnostic website read:

Gnostics consider that the biblical myth of creation can be explained as follows: the creator satan of the world trapped Adam and Eve in his miserable world, and Lucifer, in the form of a serpent, offered them the forbidden fruit of saving Gnosis, and showed them that the creator was deceiving them. In other words, the creator said to man "but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." On the other hand, the Serpent said "You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." The bible continued: "And the eyes of both of them were opened". It doesn't say "they both died", it says "the eyes of both of them were opened", like the Serpent had said. Later, the creator says "And now man has become as one of us, to know good and evil". The creator lied. He said that man would die if he ate the fruit, but man did not die. The Serpent was telling the truth. The creator himself ended up agreeing that the Serpent was right.

Gnostics of later times, at the beginning of Christianity, who came to be known as Christian Gnostics or Gnostic Christians, regarded Christ as the Serpent of Genesis. This was because Christ, much later than the events in the earthly paradise, came carrying a liberating message, just like the Serpent. A message which frees man from this impure world. These Christian Gnostics believed that it was this knowledge which allowed man to make contact with the other world, the one opposed to the demiurge [the Old Teststament God, Jehovah]: the unknowable world of the True God [Jesus' Father in Heaven"].

Christ, the bearer of this message, this Gnosis, has been likened to the Serpent of Genesis, who returns to Earth for a second time to help humanity. The first coming was Serpent Lucifer [the holy "light bearer," a totally different entity than the evil Satan, the "prince of darkness"] and the second was Christ Lucifer. According to Christian Gnosis, when Christ came to the world, it was his second time, since the first time was in the earthly paradise. In both cases it was, actually, Lucifer, the Messenger of the Unknowable. In both cases, the message was the same: Gnosis that disturbs, causes changes, wakes up and liberates those who listen to it. For Christian Gnostics, the Serpent is Christ, the Savior who came to this world twice.

Two other Constance Cumbey blog posts of mine on this topic are presented below.

Wikipedia: God as the devil (Referring to the Old Testament God, not Jesus' "Father in Heaven")

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/God_as_the_devil

In the Hebrew Bible God is depicted as the source of both light and darkness, as in Isaiah 45:6-7. This concept of "darkness" or "evil" was not yet personified as "the devil,".

The author of the Books of Chronicles is thought to have first introduced the notion of "divine intermediaries", which was not found in the earlier parts of the Hebrew Bible. The main evidence adduced by theologians to support this is 1 Chronicles 21, a reworked version of 2 Samuel 24.

This change is made most evident in the Chronicler's treatment of 2 Samuel 24:1: And again the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah. —? King James Version

which, in 1 Chronicles 21:1, becomes: And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel. —? King James Version

In the Book of Samuel, YHWH himself is the agent in punishing Israel, while in 1 Chronicles an "adversary" is introduced. This is usually taken to be the result of the influence of Persian dualism on Israelite demonology.

Scholars are divided on whether in Chronicles, "the adversary" had already become a proper name, "the Adversary" (Satan). The traditional opinion has been that this is the case, arguing from the absence of the definite article in ??? "adversary".

The Hindu "Gods" Shiva and Vishnu are One God. It is eternal and was never created or emanated. It is Jesus' "Father in Heaven." Shiva-Vishnu emanated/"created" Brahma. Brahma (The Old Testament God YHWH) then sinned, which caused him to be composed of both light and darkness. Brahma (YHWH) created the cosmos, which is a physical manifestation of a part of himself, an entity that is composed of, and the source of, both light and darkness. Brahma (YHWH) created nature/maya/Satan by manifesting mostly his dark side.

My October 28, 2017 post on Constance Cumbey's blog reads:

In respect to the Lucifer-Jesus vs. Lucifer-Satan debate on this Constance Cumbey blog, I would like to say that the posters who have refuted my position on this topic have expressed their opinions and that's all they are, they are OPINIONS. Throughout the history of Christianity renowned Christian theologians have had different opinions on this topic. Many have said that Lucifer is not Satan, or that Lucifer was not the name of Satan prior to Satan's rebellion against God. Jesus said in Luke 12:51, "Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division." Bringing "peace on earth" through successful international unification efforts (like what the UN and Pope Francis are doing today) gives strength to the nations and solves global problems, bringing "division" weakens the nations. Isaiah 12:14 says: "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!" - [King James Bible] When God the Father sent Jesus to the earth, Jesus had to fall from heaven because it is "above" the earth. And, in a way, Jesus did not want to "fall" to the earth or to be "cut down to the ground," but He chose to allow this to happen to Him for our benefit. Jesus, like Lucifer, (they are the same person) originally came to bring "division" on earth or to "weaken the nations," this is no longer the mission of Lucifer-Jesus. Today, the UN and Pope Francis are working to fulfill Jesus's current mission, which is, to bring peace on earth.

My December 1, 2017, post on Constance Cumbey's blog reads:

In the Hebrew Bible the Old Testament God is depicted as the source of both light and darkness, as in Isaiah 45:6-7. In the early parts the Hebrew Bible this concept of "darkness" or "evil" was not yet personified as the devil. The main evidence adduced by theologians to support this is 1 Chronicles 21, a reworked version of 2 Samuel 24. "And again the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah" - 2 Samuel 24. Which, in 1 Chronicles 21:1, becomes: 'And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel."

The Old Testament God (YHWH) is mostly good, but he has an evil side. When YHWH manifests his evil side he is Satan. When he manifest his good side he is the (less than worthy of worship) world soul and the cosmos is his body. I believe that good willed Christians who worship and serve YHWH, wrongly believing he is the same God as Jesus' Heavenly Father, unknowingly worship and serve Satan. Neo-Gnostic New Agers have a holy relationship with YHWH's good side, who is the Earth and the entire Cosmos. These New Agers worship and serve Jesus' Heavenly Father and honor the Earth and the entire Cosmos.

Jesus' Father is Spirit. It permeates the entire cosmos and also transcends it, and is infinitely bigger than the cosmos. The goal of New Agers is to become One with Spirit. The world soul is partially one with God's Spirit in creation. When New Agers reach the level of the world soul in their journey to become One with Spirit they experience themselves as the world soul and its body, the universe.

Pantheists who believe that God is the "World Soul" and that God is only immanent, believe that when they become "One" with the "Universe, or God" that this is the highest spiritual attainment that people can reach. New Age pan[en]theists who believe in becoming One with Spirit believe that becoming one with the world soul and its body, the universe, is only an intermediate stage of their spiritual journey [to go through] to become One with Spirit. Jesus had the ability to occasionally lower Himself down to the world soul, or "one with the universe," level. Once when he was in this level of consciousness He said: "No one comes to the Father except through me."

Clarification: Becoming one with the illusionary material universe manifestation of God is to experience a less-than-divine level of cosmic consciousness. There is also a divine manifestation of the universe-wherein the universe appears as it actually is. It is an essentially an undifferentiated mass of light permeated with Divine Consciousness. It was when Jesus was in this divine state of consciousness that he said: "No one comes to the Father except through me." Mother Mary personifies the less-that-divine world soul and its body the material universe. Jesus Christ personifies the Divine manifestation of the Universe. I believe that the only way to become One with the transcendent Father above and beyond the creation is by going through Mother Mary/Mother Earth (or the entire material universe and its soul) and Jesus Christ-or the Universe manifest as Divine Light and Divine Consciousness.

My December 3, 2017, post on Constance Cumbey's blog reads:

In the Garden of Eden the Serpent (Lucifer-Jesus) told Adam and Eve that they would be like God if they ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The Old Testament God then told Adam and Eve that the serpent was lying and that if they ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil they would die. When the Old Testament God told them this Satanic lie he was speaking through his evil side emanation, he was the Devil speaking. When the Old Testament God saw that after Adam and Eve had eaten from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and did not die he repented and said through his good side emanation, his world soul emanation, that the Serpent (Lucifer-Jesus) was right. He said: "And now man has become as one of us, to know good and evil," or, man can now become like God.
