RUM RIVER NAME CHANGE MOVEMENT

    This site is about the local, national and international movement to change the faulty-translation and profane name of Minnesota's "Rum" River back to its sacred Dakota Indian name (Wakan), which translated means (Great) Spirit

    The headquarters of our Rum River Name Change Organization are located in Wahkon, Minnesota. Our director's name is Thomas Ivan Dahlheimer. This picture of the "Rum" River and our director was taken in Anoka, Minnesota.

    Our effort to change the "Rum" River's name has received support from many organizations and individuals, and two Mdewakanton Dakota communities are also on this list of all supporters
